Loc. San Cassino, 34 Alba CN | T. +39 0173.282582

History

Three generations have been active in promoting an extraordinary territory with its oenological jewels in the world. The history of the family began in 1937 with Riccardo Ceretto, who did not own any vineyards but made wine by buying grapes from others; the turning point came in the 1960s, when his sons Bruno and Marcello began a new path, selecting and purchasing vineyards in the most suitable areas. They were the first to focus on the concept of the cru, paying great attention to the land. Four separate cellars were created for production, respecting the place of origin: Barolo in Bricco Rocche, Barbaresco in Bricco Asili, Moscato in Santo Stefano and the parent company in Alba at the Monsordo Bernardina estate. In the new millennium, the company took a more respectful agricultural approach until obtaining full organic certification in 2015. With Alessandro, Federico, Lisa and Roberta, the new generation, the horizons expanded: hazelnuts for Relanghe and catering with the Piola and Piazza Duomo, three Michelin stars for chef Enrico Crippa. Also noteworthy are the importation of foreign wines with "Terroirs", the focus on architecture with "Acino" and "Cubo" and the numerous artistic initiatives aimed at promoting the landscape: an extraordinary example is the Barolo Chapel created by Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett in their Brunate vineyard in La Morra.
