Molino Mauro

B.ta Gancia, 111 Frazione Annunziata La Morra CN | T. +39 0173.500035

History

It all began in 1973 when Mauro Molino graduated from the Alba School of Oenology and began to develop his great dream of making oenology his greatest passion, his profession. In 1975 he moved to Emilia Romagna to work as an oenologist for the CIV wine group in Modena. Mauro remained in Emilia until 1979. In the same year, following the death of his father Giuseppe, Mauro returned to the Langhe of his origins. His father bequeathed him some vineyards and he saw in this occasion the great opportunity to start winemaking in the land he had never forgotten. In 1982 he produced his first Barolo from the Conca vineyard.

People

In 2003, Matteo, Mauro's first son, joined the company full-time. Martina, Mauro's youngest daughter, has joined her father and her brother in running the company since 2008.

Vineyards

The company continues to produce its wines at Annunziata di La Morra, with total respect for tradition.
The total surface area is approximately 20 hectares, a large part of which is destined for Nebbiolo da Barolo and the remainder one is dedicated to the production of Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba and a small production of Chardonnay. The Molino family owns some of the most prestigious areas of Barolo.

Wines

The wines perfectly reflect the great respect and care that the Molino family has for the vineyards and the territory. They personally take care of every phase of production and strongly believe that the continuous search for quality combined with great passion can really make the difference. The company produces five Barolos and other typical wines of the area.
